A friend of mine recently got back from Aruba and raved about his vacation there. In checking it out,  Recommend magazine has called it one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic destinations. Aruba  has been recently ranked number two in the top 25 destination in the Caribbean by TripAdvisor travellers. This small island which is 19.6 miles long and 6 miles wide is located in the southern Caribbean Sea just off the coast of Venezuela. For the traveller who is looking for more than white sandy beaches and beautiful blue turquoise waters, it is an island of rich culture and tradition. Five reasons why you should select Aruba for your next vacation:

  1. Happy, friendly people. Aruba has some of the friendliest people around. Since most people are affected by tourism, the local residents are friendly and welcome visitors with a warm smile. The island’s motto is “One Happy Island”…
  2. Aruba has a modern airport and  is served by most Us scheduled airlines. Canadians can choose from scheduled air, with connections, through US carriers or select a Canadian charter operator with non-stop service from Toronto. Aruba is located about 2 1/2 hours from Miami by air.
  3. Wide variety of accommodations. Aruba has many luxury hotels with all the amenities as well as smaller , more laid-back hotels and boutiques properties. Some of the hotels offer an all-inclusive packages, while others offer the European Plan and/or offer a variety of meal plan options.
  4. Aruba offers a wide assortment of land and water activities. Snorkeling  and scuba diving is one of Aruba’s popular water sports with its calm waters and it incredible underwater sights. Aruba is also considered a shopper’s paradise and has many museums and historical sights and attractions.
  5. The weather. Aruba has cooling trade winds which help keep the humidity low. The year round temperature is in the low 80s (F) with less than 20 inches of rain a year.
